December 4, 2013

we're thankful.

Our Thanksgiving turned out to be an entire Thanksgiving week.

It started off Tuesday when I spent all day with my sister.
Boy I miss her.
Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures.
But we had fun shopping and laughing and talking.
All. Day. Long.

Thanksgiving week continued Wednesday when Kait, Shan and I cooked pies.
We cooked all morning.
Again, no pictures. :( I'm bad at this.
We made pecan, coconut cream, chocolate, and buttermilk pies.
I provided the sugar, and we used tons.
Yum.

Trav and I cooked dinner with his mom Wednesday night.
We had lobster, steak, twice-baked potatoes, salad, vegetables and pie.
Did I mention how good of a meat-cooker Trav is?
He's amazing.

Well at least Trav took pictures of the food.
We ended the night with Doug and Kris by watching "Four Christmases."
Pretty sure Travis could watch that all year long.
He loves it.

Joke is that Travis is making me exercise lately.
He finds P90X videos, turns them on and checks to make sure I'm doing them.
Also, the first thing he says to me in the morning is, "Good morning, ready to go to the gym?"
Yeah, not kidding.
I secretly like it.
So, Thursday morning we started out hiking the Y with my family.
I seriously hate that hike.
But was grateful to be with family and for a healthy body.

Then more eating, more family and more not taking pictures.

Kait made us cute headbands to wear.
Trav stated earlier that he would not wear anything that didn't support the Cowboys.
Sure enough, Kait made a Cowboy pilgrim hat just for him.
She's so thoughtful.
That's probably why the Cowboys won.
Makes for a good Thanksgiving.

Right after family left from the Thanksgiving festivities, our weekend did not end.
We immediately took off to St. George with my family.
The drive down was the scariest drive.
We had a trailer full of four wheelers that kept swerving and pulling the car.
We made it safely, luckily.

We are thankful for so much this year.
Too much to be listed, but mostly for each other.
We're thankful that we were married in the temple for forever.
Every day is so much better when he's around.
I know, so cheesy, but true.
