A Pinning Ceremony is a big deal for nursing students.
There's history behind it that I don't really understand.
Something about Florence Nightingale (a nurse from World War 1 or 2)
making a statement that nurses are caring and stuff.
Well I had my Pinning Ceremony on August 23, 2104.
It was wonderful and so much fun.
I counted it as my graduation, since my school won't hold us a graduation until November 1st.
I loved seeing my school friends.
Everyone was so happy and relieved that school was over.
Many had passed their NCLEX test.
I invited some family to come, and most came!
We took pictures and stuff before on the stairs of the Provo Library.
Then we listened to some classmates.
And a teacher that we loved.
Then we watched a slideshow of pictures.
Until the computer shut down because it didn't have battery.
Typical Provo College.
Then we walked up, one by one and got pinned and a rose.
Chanted the Florence Nightingale nursing mission.
I cried through the whole thing.
I don't know what was wrong with me.
I think I just had so many emotions.
Stressed because my NCLEX was coming up faster than I was ready.
Overwhelmed because I had so much support.
Shocked because I did it.
Loved.
Happy.
Relieved.
Shocked.
I'm so grateful for my classmates I had through nursing school.
We stuck together.
We were all friends.
There was no drama between us.
I don't know if we all just knew it was hard, and we needed each other,
or if Provo College made it even harder than it needed to be so we stuck together.
We supported each other when we had tough times in our home life.
We studied together when one was struggling.
We lifted each other up, and I loved that.
We did it together, with our families.
After the pinning, my mom had lunch ready for all who supported me.
Catered Cafe Rio (my favorite) and Molly's chocolate cake.

Congratulations, sugar, and on passing your test. So proud of you! U!!
