The people in the house before us had tulips.
I was so surprised when they popped up this spring.
Each day, I got so excited and happy about them.
I wished in the early days of spring that they would open sooner.
Once they opened, I watched them closely.
When it got cold at night, they would close up.
Once the sun shown on them, they opened back up.
I seriously loved them.
Eventually they stopped opening and closing
and the petals fell off.
Now, I want to plan more in the fall for next spring.
I want to have them in every garden Travis and I have.
I want my kids to grow up loving them just like I do.
Because I was so excited about them this year,
Shan and I talked about going to the tulip festival at
Thanksgiving Point ever since we saw the first billboard for the season.
Once school got out, and it stopped raining for a day
we decided to go.
Plus it was on Shan's birthday.
I was so excited she asked me to go with her on her special day.
It was the first time going for the both of us.
I didn't realize how many different kinds of tulips there were!
Thanksgiving Point sure was gorgeous on this sunny, warm day.
Oh, and I took 99 pictures. Wow.
Shan's favorite were all of the pink ones.
I liked the tall, deep purple and short orange ones mixed together.
And the big yellow ones pictured below.
Thanks Shan, for including me on your birthday!
Love you tons!
