valentine's day, bear lake, a burned finger and selling the car.

I've had two Valentine's days with Travis.
Both days were the best Valentine's days I've ever had.
Valentine's day has always been one of the, if not my FAVORITE holiday.
It's something about the love in the air for that special someone,
and for everyone you know.
It's always so exciting to me.
Annnddd.. the cute decorations and flowers never seem to dull anything.

The start of February came, and I realized I didn't have any lovey-dovey decorations.
How can Valentine's be my favorite without decorations?
So, I decided to get crafty.

Trav didn't like the hot pink, you may not either.
I loved it.
I want February to start over so I can put these things back up.
Not really, but kind of.

For V-day, my cute husband came home from work with flowers, and some gifts.
He was the cutest, and WENT SHOPPING FOR ME.
What? I'm the luckiest you say?
I know.
I was impressed, and he got some good things, and the flowers were amazing!
We dressed up and went to Ruth's Chris for dinner.
So yummy.

Valentine's day happened to fall on a long weekend.
I had school all day saturday, but who wants to do that?
So I skipped it, and we headed to Bear Lake to catch up with the family after dinner.
Shan, surprised us with a little Valentine's gift.

At Bear Lake, we went snow mobiling, and attempted to go skiing/snowboarding.
Snow mobiling was a blast, but the next day, there was a blizzard.
Seriously a white out, which made skiing not very fun.
We ate so much food, and junk food.
Played in the hot tub.
Played games.
Watched the olympics and movies.
Played "princesses" and "house."
(I hope that little girl never grows up.)
I mostly studied.
And stayed up late at night.
Because Hailey didn't want to sleep at night, she slept while snow mobiling.
Who can blame her?
There's too much going on at all times.

A few days ago, while I was making up the day of school I missed for Bear Lake,
I got a text from Travis.

He burned his finger while attempting to fry jalepeno poppers.
He learned to not heat up oil with the lid on, or it will flame up.
Flame up it did.
There was soot and black all over my house.

At the hospital, they thought it could be a 3rd degree.
So they gave him some silver cream crap, a splint and a grand ol' wraps.
He was instructed to go to the burn clinic at the U of U.
They cut the blister off to find it was a second degree.
We were happy for that, and waiting for it to heal.
There is a routine every morning on how to wrap it.
It hurts him, and I tease him for it, but he's a trooper.
Poor guy.
We're still working on cleaning up the oil out back from when he threw the pot outside.
But the soot from literally every surface of my entire house is deep cleaned.

Yesterday, we sold Trav's 4runner.
He loved that car, and I loved it because he loved it so much.
One Saturday, we worked on cleaning our cars for seven hours, getting ready to sell his.
Seven hours.
It worked though, and we sold it.
Now we have one car.
Neither of us has had to share a car.
We are spoiled.
So if we call needing a ride, please be a kind neighbor.

When Trav went to California, the knots in my stomach would always tighten when I saw the back of a 4runner.
I missed him.
We took it through the car wash one last time, and then met the guy in Nephi.
He wouldn't let me take pictures of it before we gave it away, so I took pictures while we were driving.

I'm going to miss seeing his shadow in the front, driving while I follow him.
Is it weird to miss a car so much?
Oh well, let us be pathetic.

Also, I can't wait for spring break.
Next week, please come sooner!
