weekend getaway.

This sweetheart decided to take me for a weekend vacay.
I was hesitant at first, because school has been so busy, and then realized that I totally needed it.
We totally needed it.
So I made it work.
I worked my hiney off all week and got my homework done quickly.
Then took all the stuff to study with me.
Nursing school never gives you a break.

This was the first road trip just Trav and I as a married couple.
It was awesome to be with just him.

The first night we stayed at some friend's home.
They moved down right after Christmas, and we were excited to see them.
We went to dinner and got ice cream.
Then we watched Saving Mr. Banks at their cute house.
In the morning we went to breakfast, and left.
They were good hosts.
They even left towels, a soap bar and a bible on the bed for us.

After we left, Trav and I had to stop at the original Swig.
Mostly, I wanted to.
I'm obsessed.
The drive up line was so long, we had to take a picture of the cars waiting in the shoulder of the road.
After, I wanted to stop at The Blue Linen, probably the cutest little store in St. George right now.

We peaced and headed for Vegas.
First stop was Nordstom.
It sounds like I was a shopping brat this day.
I kind of was, and had a whole bunch of Christmas return money waiting to be spent!
Trav chose me out a cute dress, which of course didn't cover the long underwear.
I tried it on, just for kicks and he loved it.
Long underwear and all.

We went to check into the hotel after we dropped from shopping.
Nastiest hotel of our lives.
Travis told the lady on the phone a couple days prior that it was our honeymoon and we wanted a cool room to stay in.
All of the rooms were booked in the hotel he wanted, so they put us in their sister hotel.
We officially think it was the evil-step-sister hotel.
The Quad.
Gross.
The pee stains on the floor in the bathroom were the least of our worries.
Pretty sure I didn't take off my shoes the entire stay.
But it was a room with a humongous bathtub.
Props to that.

We got ready, and raced to get tickets to a show.
We decided on seeing the Illusionist.
It was so good, I highly recommend it.
While we were waiting in line for the tickets, a nice man talked our ears off.
He, his wife and his friends were from Scottland.
They asked us some weird questions about the Mormon culture and the missionaries.
He really liked to tease me, and was having such fun with that.
Glad I could keep you entertained, Mr. Scottland. :)

We went to dinner at the Mandalay Bay buffet.
I'm not usually a fan of buffets, but this one was really good!
Then we raced to the show, which we were about ten minutes late to.

We woke up and left real quick.
Trav drove like a maniac, and we got home in about 5 hours.
Lunch and gas stops included.
I slept so I wouldn't drive him crazy by telling him to slow down every five minutes.

Seriously, my husband is the best.
It was such an amazing weekend, and we had so much fun.
We can't wait for next time!
